Happy New Beginnings Day
Happy and warm greetings to you. It's a pleasure to be blogging again and I want to thank you for your patience over the past few months. Bouncing for Breast Cancer has been working behind the scenes to develop our foundation and exciting path forward to help single mothers affected by breast cancer. Additionally, I have moved my home to Australia with my husband, so it's been a further growth for me on how to bring this mission forward.
Truth is, to go from a personal campaign to a larger organisation requires a new strategy. I have never done anything like this before, so I just need time to find the right people to advise us. This meant that we needed to really assess our needs, such as infrastructure, roles, steering committee, criteria for funding, and much more than I could have imagined. Futhermore, we didn't want to set up just another charity. We wanted to really understand the needs of single mums that we intend to help. Whilst one of our functions is to provide financial support, our heart mission is to provide outstanding emotional support and share useful resources.
Today, we celebrate our new path. Over the next 12 months, we will be launching our dream teams in the UK, America and Austalia. Specifically, we commit:
- spread further awareness of the unique situations faced by single mothers and their kids when going through treatment, recovery from breast cancer
- host fun and exciting community bouncing events in local communities
- raise funding for the cause
- distribute our top quality personally branded trampolines
- provide the emotional support to help single mums find an empowering meaning in their situation and most importantly, a compelling future for themselves and their children
- share wellness information on nutrition and exercise.
- and much more
I celebrate today even more because of the amazing support we've received so far from many people throught the world. Most importantly, I celebrate my sister Kathleen, for whom this personal campaign was originally founded.
For those who have been following the story, Kathleen is doing well in herself and her kids have been brilliant throughout all of this, receiving great marks at school. She is taking a course of Herceptin for a total of 12 months. In the meantime, she regaining her vitality each day. Finding her new normal has been a great learning for her and she is happy to be looking towards a bright future full of love, faith and gratitude.
There is so much we too have learned since our last blog in October and i will share those valuable gifts in the coming days.
with love and appreciation
